The rules of the group chat.

By accessing or using tripoutthechat.com you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use the service on behalf of a group, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for that use.

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Tell us promptly at hey@tripoutthechat.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Trip Out The Chat helps a group choose a destination by collecting private preferences and returning an aggregated match result, plus editorial guides and planning tools. We are a planning and content service. We are not a travel agent, tour operator or booking platform. We do not sell, arrange, guarantee or take responsibility for flights, accommodation, tours, insurance or any other travel service.

Prices, flight times, seasonality notes, itineraries and budget ranges shown on the site are estimates for general guidance, compiled at a point in time and subject to change. Always verify details — including entry requirements, visas, health advice and current government travel guidance — with official sources before booking or travelling.

You agree not to:

• Use invite links to spam, harass or mislead people, or share them with people who have not agreed to take part.
• Submit unlawful, abusive, defamatory or infringing content, including in trip names and display names.
• Attempt to access another person's account, trip or individual vote data.
• Scrape, copy, resell or redistribute our content, guides or planner without written permission.
• Probe, disrupt or overload the service, or bypass any security or rate limit.
• Use the service to build a competing product or dataset.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

You keep ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content solely to operate and improve the service. You confirm you have the rights to submit it.

The site, its design, brand, editorial articles, destination guides and the planner are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. Buying the planner grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own trips. It does not permit resale, redistribution, sharing of the file publicly, or commercial use.

• Prices are shown before checkout. Displayed local currency amounts may be indicative; the amount charged at checkout is the amount you pay.
• Payments are processed by our payment provider. By purchasing, you agree to their terms as well as ours.
• You are responsible for any applicable taxes not shown at checkout, and for the accuracy of the billing details you provide.
• Digital products are delivered immediately after successful payment.

• Plus is a recurring subscription that renews automatically each billing period until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then.
• We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice before it applies to your next renewal.
• We may change, add or remove Plus features, but will not materially reduce the core benefit of a period you have already paid for.

Because the planner is a digital product delivered instantly, sales are final once downloaded, except where a refund is required by law or where the file is faulty or was not delivered. Subscription payments already taken are non-refundable, other than as required by law. Consumers in the EEA and UK have a statutory right of withdrawal for digital content, which is lost once download begins with your express consent. If something has gone wrong, email hey@tripoutthechat.com within 14 days and we will look at it fairly.

Some links on the site earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend. Full detail is in our affiliate disclosure.

The service links to and relies on third parties, including booking partners, payment and authentication providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products or practices. Your dealings with them are between you and them.

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, and may perform maintenance, with or without notice. If we discontinue a paid feature entirely, we will provide a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of a prepaid period.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that match results, budgets or recommendations will suit your group, or that the service will be error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or travel costs, cancellations or disruption arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your content, or your misuse of the service.

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licences, disclaimers, liability limits and governing law — continue to apply.

We may update these terms. Material changes take effect 30 days after we post them or notify you, unless a shorter period is needed for legal reasons. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

These terms, together with the privacy policy and affiliate disclosure, are the entire agreement between us. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger or sale.
