Group House or Separate Hotel Rooms? The Real Trade-off
One is cheaper. The other is why you're still friends in March.

On paper the house always wins. Six people in a three-bedroom villa will nearly always beat six people in three hotel rooms, sometimes by half. But the house is charging you in a currency the spreadsheet doesn't show: proximity.
Choose the house if
- The group has travelled together before and survived it
- Cooking one or two meals in is part of the appeal
- There's a pool, a terrace, or a reason to actually be there during the day
- Everyone keeps roughly similar hours
Choose hotel rooms if
- Two people are early risers and two are not, by four hours
- Anyone in the group is bringing a partner
- It's a city trip where you'll only be inside to sleep
- Somebody needs a door they can close without it being a statement
The hybrid nobody considers
An aparthotel. Separate lockable rooms, a shared kitchen and living space, one bill, and a reception desk that handles the problems. It costs slightly more than a rental and solves most of what goes wrong in one.
